Starting a Business in Maine
You recognize an opportunity, have entrepreneurial energy, great ideas, and want to START A BUSINESS.
You need to be able to answer these questions and more:
- Do you need a business plan?
- What should your financial and profitability goals be?
- How do you analyze the market and competition?
- If you do need a business plan how do you create it?
- What licenses, government permits are required?
- Should you incorporate, form a Partnership or be a sole proprietor?
- Do you need money? Where will you get it?
It is a difficult and complex process to start a business. Now you can get expert direction just when you are going to need it most. And it's FREE. Contact SCORE (email or telephone) and make an appointment for your introductory counseling session. That's when you'll learn how much you have to learn. Your SCORE counselor will recommend your next session and with whom (see counselors' areas of expertise). You'll leave that first session with a lot more to think about--and with a lot more confidence in your future.
Or another way to learn what you need to know is to attend Starting Your Own Business, one of our Small Business Workshops. Visit our calendar of workshops page to register and pay online. You can also request an appointment for a future counseling session with counselor that will be best suited for your venture.
Now it's up to you to make your move! Contact SCORE now and make an appointment for your FREE and completely confidential counseling session either here at our Portland Maine office or one of our other Southern Maine locations.
